Presented by the Bards of Boko: Richard Wolfe and Peter Winskill bring their poetry and big baritone voices. Tony Newport adds songwriting and music from the unique "Bradshaw Autoharp", a harp made entirely of precious Tasmanian timbers from the West Coast, donated by the Bradshaw family. With additional vocals by the Semaphore Singers. "In A Miner's House" is an afternoon of songs, story and poetry inspired by living on the West Coast of Tasmania. The Bradshaw Mill, mining, the Green Bus Line, the harsh but beautiful environment. Whimsical reminiscences of working life in an industry town. A celebration of the spirit of the resilient West Coast people. Warm nostalgic songs of growing up "In A Miner's House" Held in the ballroom at Penghana, the grand historic mine manager's residence built as the home of the General Manager of the Mt Lyell Mining Company, the brilliant American metallurgist, Robert Carl Sticht.
