Description
Queensland's premier chorus, the Queensland Choir presents a stunning programme of timeless Baroque masterpieces in the historic Concert Hall of the Old Museum Building.
Together with the Sinfonia of St Andrew's and guest soloists Annika Hinrichs (soprano) and Morgan Rosati (mezzo-soprano) they will perform some of the most popular and spectacular music by three of the greatest composers of all time - JS Bach, Handel and Vivaldi - that perfectly demonstrates the vitality, elegance, grandeur and dramatic power of the Baroque era.
Programme:
Handel: Sinfonia - Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (from Solomon)
Handel: Zadok the Priest (Coronation Anthem No.1)
Handel: The King Shall Rejoice (Coronation Anthem No.3)
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No.3
Bach: Jesu, joy of man's desiring (from Cantata No.147)
Vivaldi: Gloria in D major RV.589
This will be Kevin Power's, last concert as he retires as our conductors with more than 50 years service with the choir. A very special event and not to be missed.
