Rodeo Photo Exhibition

A photo exhibition of the 2025 Berriwillock Rodeo featuring the work of local photographer Philip Down. Philip is a photographer with deep roots in the landscape of rural Victoria. Born and raised on a wheat and sheep farm in Speed. With extensive experience photographing weddings and sporting events, photography is his passion. The courage of the riders and spirit of the animals are obvious. But what Philip managed to capture was not just the adrenalin rush of the ride, the exciting and breath taking spills, but the close bond and strong trust the competitors share with their fellow competitors, families and their animals. Whether it be the bull riders' meeting the challenge from the beast or the barrel riders' close bond with their horse; they are truly courageous and determined people. This exhibition conveys that determination, humility and community spirit and challenges the view of many regarding adrenalin sports.
