10 week jewellery skills class with Marcus Foley

An introduction to the art of jewellery making (gold and silver-smithing) taught by Marcus Foley over 10 x three hour sessions at oneofftwo STUDIOS at Mayday Hills in Beechworth. Marcus has nearly 40 years of experience in this field and has previously conducted workshops at various institutions and studios around Australia. A small class of four participants will be taught the formative skills in gold and silver smithing with the goal of producing an individually designed saw-pierced silver ring to your own design. This project is perfect for beginners as it has a strong focus on learning skills. These will include, sawing, soldering, drilling, filing and planishing (hammering) with the first few sessions working with brass to develop your skill set before moving on to making your sterling silver ring. and then finishing off a beautiful silver ring for you to wear with pleasure and pride!
