Yorke Peninsula

Yorke Peninsula holds two very different landscapes, the historic Copper Triangle towns of Moonta, Kadina and Wallaroo in the north, and wild coastline running south to Innes National Park. Cornish miners built those northern towns from the 1860s copper boom, heritage still visible in the stone cottages and mine ruins scattered through the district. Innes National Park holds the peninsula's wildest edge, Cape Spencer Lighthouse standing over cliffs and a coastline littered with shipwreck history. This peninsula has always kept one face turned toward the sea.
