Australia’s fittest surf sports athletes will battle it out over four rounds of iron racing across the Shaw and Partners Iron Series, held at North Burleigh QLD.
16 Ironmen and Women will be pushed to their limits in two race formats courses that test endurance, speed and skill in the ocean.
Round 3, Race 1 - The Specialist tests the Shaw and Partner’s Iron Athletes’ prowess across all these surf sport disciplines, and rewards those who have taken the time to master each one individually. This Round features five races, a soft sand run, a paddle board race, a swim race, a surf ski race, and finally a traditional Iron race. Depending how an Iron Athlete performed across the first four races, they will be rewarded with a handicapped start in the Iron race. Where Iron Athletes cross the finish line at the end of the traditional Iron, will be their final placing for the Round, with the last placed four Iron Athletes will be knocked out of the 2024/25 Shaw and Partners Iron Series.
After Round Three's 16 Ironmen and Women have pushed through the gruelling two Iron formats, only the top 12 Iron Athletes will proceed heading into the Grand Final!
