Head On Photo Festival is Australia’s leading photography platform, bringing hundreds of world-class photographers to Sydney’s most iconic stages. Each year, the festival transforms the city into a living art gallery. From the dazzling Bondi Beach promenade to the historic Paddington Reservoir Gardens, familiar spaces emerge anew as unmissable exhibition spaces. Over their 20-year history, Head On have built a groundswell of community support that has made an international impact. They have exhibited over 5,000 photographers, awarded AUD800,000 in cash and prizes, and created a base of more than half a million attendees annually. But the numbers tell only half the story. Head On is passionate about sharing the impactful and moving stories unfolding worldwide. From Auburn to Kyiv, Washington DC to Paramatta Square, Head On reaches the depths of the world’s most dynamic and exciting characters to share their stories. Head On Festival 2024, their fifteenth instalment, offers a diverse and compelling program for audiences to enjoy. There will be artist talks, free events, workshops, and life-giving discussions framed by the evocative visual narratives of the installations. The Festival program this year includes over 90 exhibitions and over 600 artists showing across Sydney, Australia and online.
