Description
Join them for a chat with local author Lyn Brown who is launching her first book True Confessions from the Hardback Café.
With partner, Barbara Ferguson, Lyn purchased the Angus and Robertson Bookshop, Orange in 1985.
The shop later became The Hardback Café, providing an apt title for the book, with Ash Brown (now a local real estate agent) as bookseller and barista.
Lyn and Ash expanded the business, with shops in Cowra, Parkes, Bathurst, Windsor and the Batemans Bay area.
Lyn kept a tongue-in-cheek diary of the weird and unusual happenings in these establishments and started writing it down during Covid.
Many of the incidents feature well known shops and identities in Orange.
Lyn’s memoir True Confessions from the Hardback Café is “a compelling and engaging professional memoir of the life of a bookseller in Australia. It entertains interests and surprises”.
All interested people are welcome to attend. Books will be for sale and signing on the night.
