International Day of People with Disability 2024

Celebrate International Day of People with Disability 2024 with Dancenorth Australia and Townsville Community Learning Centre. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations-sanctioned day that celebrates the contributions and achievements of people with disability and promotes awareness, understanding and acceptance in the communities. ⁠ This December, Dancenorth is proud to celebrate International Day of People with Disability 2024 with a special free event honouring the incredible local artists, dancers, and community members with disability. In collaboration with a vibrant group of young dancers from the Townsville Community Learning Centre, Dancenorth presents an original performance inspired by our latest work, Lighting the Dark. Join them to celebrate diversity, inclusivity and creativity within the community through the transformative power of dance. This event will be Auslan interpreted.
