Battle of the Bands: Make a Scene

In June, young musicians aged 13-25 were invited to join Battle of the Bands: Make A Scene 2024!  To kick things off, 15 bands performed live at two Open Mic Style Heats at Tuggeranong Arts Centre (TAC). Both events were a great success. All bands exceeded the expectations of the friendly judges and the enthusiastic audience. Eight bands made it through to the finals and got the chance to make a professionally recorded video in the TAC theatre. This new initiative was well received by participating bands, Spit the Dummy, Skyka, Evadell, Winston, Specimen, Trail of Crumbs, 3 Piece Meal and Belt of Venus. The eight bands worked with professional Videographers and Sound Engineers over two nights to create their own live music videos. Celebrate the achievements of this year’s finalists at the Battle of the Bands final event for 2024, happening as part of TAC’s Grand Day Out and Tuggeranong’s SouthFest celebrations. In the morning, a debut screening of the fully edited videos will be shown in the TAC theatre. After lunch, an award ceremony and live performances will take place on TAC’s outdoor stage by the lake. Each of the finalists will receive a certificate of achievement and cash prizes. Battle of the Bands 2024 was supported by ACT Government and Luton Tuggeranong.
