One way is to write a concerto that’ll bring down the house – so that’s exactly what Brahms tried to do. It would take years for his Piano Concerto No.1 to gain a cult following, and it’s now one of the most famous pieces of its kind. We excitedly welcome the legendary British pianist Sir Stephen Hough to play the solo. But who are we kidding, everyone loves Beethoven too.
