Holiday Bush Tucker and Medicine Tour

Explore the world with new eyes when you learn about the ancient bush medicines, foods and fibres found right beneath your feet here on the Mid-North Coast. Used by Gumbaynggirr People for thousands of years, these precious resources are truly abundant and once you know how to identify the plants, you'll see they grow absolutely everywhere! Learn from local Gumbaynggirr nyaami Dallas Gittins and walk through the melaleuca and bloodwood forests of No Man's Land. The track is across the road from Yarrawarra (to the right of James Runner Drive) and follows part-bush-track and part boardwalk, for one kilometre to the beach. It's recommended to wear enclosed shoes, sun protection, bring a water bottle and insect repellent if necessary It's part of the teachings of Gumbaynggirr People to pass on knowledge in person, and to teach and show a person face-to-face, this way the passion and interest of the person teaching leave an impression and hopefully a bit of it rubs off!
