Singing & Songwriting Through Improv. with Libby Hammer

In this workshop explore voice and how to use it to make fun improvisations that can eventually become songs. Today’s approach aims to show that there is no ‘right’ way to make music. Everyone has the ability to find inspiration in everyday life in order to create beautiful melodies and lyrics that are meaningful to us and therefore to others. You don’t even need to be able to play an instrument! Investigate the ‘tried and true’ elements of successful songwriting and improvising such as motivic development. Expect to join in on fun and crazy vocal exercises (physically as well as mentally), and learn some easy ways to reduce stage fright, before some improvised composing. Get ready to make a joyful noise!
