IWSO Presents: Peter and the Wolf

The Inner West Symphony Orchestra (IWSO) invites you to an afternoon of music, storytelling and a bit of the unexpected. Dukas' rousing brass 'La Peri Fanfare' will open the show, leading into Brahms' boisterous 'Academic Festival Overture'. From there you will be taken on a tour of the orchestra through two classics: Prokofiev's 'Peter and the Wolf', a timeless favourite and a masterclass in how music can tell a story, and Britten's 'Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra', which explores each section of the orchestra through lively variations. You'll have to strap yourselves in for the grand finale: a full symphonic tribute to the iconic video game Super Mario. Also featuring will be a performance of Handel's 'La Rejouissance' with special guests, musicians from Footscray City Primary School! Light refreshments available.
