Description

This unique tour is a collaboration between Twofold Aboriginal Corporation and the Fungi Festival, offering a captivating journey where you can paddle through the pristine waterways of Pambula Lake while immersing yourself in the rich Indigenous narrative of fungi and its deep cultural significance. Led by local Indigenous guide Nathan Lygon, you'll learn how Aboriginal knowledge of fungi was passed through sacred songs and dances, and how this vital cultural heritage is being rediscovered today. Discover how Aboriginal communities use fungi for medicine, food and ceremonial traditions. The tour also delves into the Aboriginal connection to the land and waterways, showing how fungi, plants, and local ecosystems have supported generations of Aboriginal peoples in the region. Make your way to Severs Beach, a place deeply entwined with the indigenous heritage of the region, resonating with thousands of years of history. As you pause to soak in the beauty of this magnificent spot, guests are treated to a delightful morning tea. Relish the local flavours of lemon myrtle slice, paired with freshly plunged coffee, aromatic tea, refreshing juice, and a selection of fresh fruit. Activity Fitness Level Easy: Sheltered flat water with minimal currents, easy entry and exits and no more than 500m from safe landing sites.
