Broadsound Area

Broad Sound itself is known for some of the largest tidal swings in the Southern Hemisphere, the water rising and falling metres between high and low. St Lawrence sits quietly on its edge, a small town built around fishing more than anything else, mud crabs and barramundi both worth the effort. Further along, Clairview offers an easy beach stop right off the highway, good for camping or just stretching your legs by the water. Inland, the cattle country stretches out much as it has for generations. Out here, the coast rewrites itself twice a day.
