Fraser Coast Region

A stretch north along the coast from Brisbane, K'gari is the largest sand island on Earth, growing genuine rainforest straight out of the dunes. Eli Creek runs clear and shallow enough to float down on a tube, out through the rainforest to the sea. In Hervey Bay, humpback whales pause in the calm water for days during migration, one of the most reliable whale-watching bases in the world.
