South Australia's oldest national park, right on the edge of the suburbs
Few suburbs anywhere back straight onto a national park this old, Belair protecting this stretch of hills since 1891 and still drawing walkers more than a century later. Brown Hill Creek Recreation Park offers a smaller, quieter version of the same bushland experience, closer still to the city. The suburb climbs steadily into the Adelaide Hills face zone, streets giving way to bush the further out you go. This is where the city properly starts to feel like the country.
