City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters

One of Adelaide's best-preserved Victorian streetscapes

Few streets in Adelaide have aged as gracefully as this one, The Parade's ornate verandahs and heritage facades running for blocks through the heart of Norwood. Norwood Oval sits just behind it, a proper old sporting ground with more than a century of local history soaked into the turf. St Peters and Payneham keep their own quieter version of the same character, tree-lined streets built in the same era. This is Adelaide's inner east at its most classically preserved.
