Daylesford & the Macedon Ranges

This part of Victoria rewards wandering more than rushing, heritage villages and quiet farmland strung together by roads built for a leisurely drive rather than a fast one. Kyneton keeps some of the finest bluestone streetscapes in the state, grand buildings from the district's gold rush prosperity. Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens climbs above Daylesford to a lookout tower with views over the whole town and surrounding hills. A heritage steam train still runs through Spa Country too, one more slow way to see the district.
