District Council of Ceduna

The last town before one of the world's longest straight roads

This stretch of coast marks the edge of something enormous, Ceduna the final major town before the Nullarbor Plain begins its long, empty run west. Whales pass close enough to the Great Australian Bight here to watch from the cliffs in season. Shelly Beach holds genuine rockpools and clear water just five minutes from town. An hour inland, Lake MacDonnell turns pink enough to make the whole trip worth it on its own.
