A dozen small towns, each with its own reason to stop
This peninsula rewards the driver more than the destination, one town's jetty giving way to the next town's cliff, giving way to the next town's silo mural. Wine, wool and wheat built most of these towns, and their history still shows in old stone buildings and grain towers turned into art. Marine parks ring much of the coast, sea lions, whales and reef fish sharing water that stays remarkably clear from one bay to the next. The whole coast rewards patience more than a plan.
