Katoomba

Katoomba has been in the tourism business longer than almost anywhere in Australia, and it still has the best seat in the house. The Three Sisters, Echo Point and Scenic World's cliff-edge railway are all on its doorstep, with the Prince Henry Cliff Walk stringing the lookouts together above the mist-filled Jamison Valley. Between adventures, wander a main street of Art Deco facades, browse galleries and bookshops, and watch the fog roll up the valley like a tide. Every great show needs a hometown.
