A fifteen-metre lobster, standing guard over the highway
Nothing prepares you for the first sight of this one. The Big Lobster towers over the highway into town, one of Australia's most famous roadside giants, built to celebrate an industry that still keeps much of Kingston working. Cape Jaffa Lighthouse stands further along the coast, a genuine working light with real maritime history behind it. The Southern Ocean does the rest of the talking here, close enough to hear from almost anywhere in town.
