Northern Peninsula Area

This is where mainland Australia finally runs out, the drive north crossing the Jardine River before delivering you to Pajinka, the true northernmost point of the continent. Getting here is the whole adventure, red dirt tracks and remote beaches with no one else in sight for most of the way. Traditional Torres Strait and Aboriginal communities call this Country home, and cultural tours offer a genuine way to learn their stories properly, rather than just passing through. Fish, camp or simply stand at the tip and look north toward the Torres Strait. This is about as far as the road goes, in every sense.
