Perth hills

Some of Australia's best walking starts right here, and the Bibbulmun Track proves it, stretching nearly 1,000 kilometres south through forest and coast from this exact spot. Mundaring, Kalamunda, Armadale and Serpentine-Jarrahdale each keep their own quiet country character, barely 45 minutes from the city. Vineyards and distilleries roll through the valleys between them, the Bickley Valley trail linking several worth a stop. Wildflowers fill the bush each spring, the hills at their most colourful.
