Where three of Australia's deserts meet at once
Not many towns can claim to sit at the meeting point of three deserts. Port Augusta can, close enough to the Great Victoria, Simpson and Strzelecki deserts that all three are said to converge here. The Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden shows what actually grows in that country, native desert flora thriving in conditions most gardens would never attempt. This town has always sat exactly where the map gets interesting.
