Shark Bay World Heritage Area

Shark Bay holds a living fossil record most places can only put behind glass, and Hamelin Pool proves it, stromatolites that have grown here for 3,500 million years and are still forming today. Nearby, Shell Beach is made entirely of tiny white shells rather than sand, a rare formation found in only a handful of places worldwide. Monkey Mia's wild dolphins swim right up to the shore most mornings, close enough to properly meet without a boat between you. The whole coast feels older than time itself.
