Southern Forests

Somewhere in these forests, someone once decided the best way to watch for fires was to climb the tree itself, and Pemberton's Gloucester Tree still lets visitors do exactly that, metal spikes leading up to an old lookout. Bridgetown keeps its own quieter charm on the Blackwood River, heritage streets shaded by some of the tallest trees in the state. Greenbushes carries real mining history, tin and now lithium pulled from the same ground for generations. The forest just keeps going, town after quiet town.
