Sunshine Coast Area

The Sunshine Coast never really settles into a single centre, Coolum and Peregian Beach holding their own quiet stretch of sand between the bigger names either side. Climb Mount Coolum for one of the best lookouts on the whole coast, or head into the hinterland where Eumundi's old streets and Mapleton's ridge-top views round out the Blackall Range. Paddle the calm waters of the Maroochy or Noosa river systems, or simply follow the beach road from one small town to the next. National parks and biosphere reserves protect much of what's left untouched, close enough to the coast to still matter.
