Swan Valley

180 years of winemaking, and a wildlife park with koalas to hold

This valley has been making wine since long before "wine country" was a marketing term, and it still shows, more than 180 years of history spread across a 32-kilometre loop drive. The Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery, owned and run by the local community, sits alongside the quieter Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Park further along the route. Families can meet koalas and feed kangaroos at Caversham Wildlife Park inside Whiteman Park, vintage train rides included. Old vines and new distilleries somehow share the same quiet roads.
