Six kilometres of coast you'll want to walk twice
This stretch of coast turns swimming into a way of life, clifftops and sculpture-strewn headlands giving way to a swimming hole every kilometre. The Bondi to Coogee walk is the classic version, from the wave-washed lanes of Icebergs to Clovelly's sheltered channel, where snorkellers drift over blue gropers. Push north instead and the drama flips harbourward, the Federation Cliff Walk running to South Head where the Hornby Lighthouse watches the ocean pour through the heads. Bring swimmers everywhere you go. The east considers them formal wear.
