The Tweed

A whole valley shaped like the volcano that used to be here

This whole valley owes its shape to something that isn't there anymore, an ancient volcano collapsed so long ago that its rim still forms the ring of green hills around every view. Mount Warning, or Wollumbin, marks its worn-down core, sacred to the Bundjalung people and no longer open to climbing, though the view from below explains the reverence easily enough. Drive the old caldera rim through villages like Uki and Tyalgum, then head to Cabarita Beach. Nature did the shaping here. Everything since has just been paying attention to it.
