Uluru/Kata Tjuta Area

Walking the full base track around Uluru shows a different rock than the one seen from a distance, waterholes, caves and quiet corners the lookouts never reveal. The Cultural Centre is the right place to learn its stories, Tjukurpa shared by Anangu on their own terms rather than guessed at from outside. After dark, Field of Light spreads tens of thousands of glass spheres across the desert floor, a contemporary artwork created with the support and involvement of the traditional owners. This is Anangu land, managed jointly with Parks Australia, exactly as it should be.
