Wudinna District Council

Home to the second-largest granite monolith in the country

Only one rock in Australia is bigger than this one. Mount Wudinna rises out of the plains as the second-largest granite monolith in the country, smaller only than Uluru. Nearby, Turtle Rock and Pildappa Rock add their own striking shapes to the same ancient granite family, each worn into different forms by millions of years of weather. The district sits quietly amid wheat and sheep country, flat paddocks stretching out beneath skies as big as the rocks themselves.
