Description

Experience the tall-timber woodlands of Pemberton's lush karri forests and see the Bicentennial Tree. Standing at a height of 65 metres, this tree, once a fire lookout is now an icon of the south west and centrepiece of the canopy. Nearby you can explore the Warren River Loop Walk-Trail, meandering through the forest for a rejuvenating nature immersion. The surroundings are perfect for bird watching, with the chance to catch a glimpse of the rare red-tailed black cockatoo. Enhance your visit by packing a picnic and taking advantage of the available facilities, including barbecues and a sheltered picnic area. Conveniently located a short drive from Pemberton, the Bicentennial Tree is approximately a 4-hour drive from Perth. Although its top hut is currently under refurbishment, The Bicentennial Tree is open to the first 20m platform for climbing, offering beautiful views of the surrounding karri forest.
