Description

Established in 1974, the Dog Cemetery is a tribute to man's best friend. With over 200 loved ones now buried, the cemetery is unique to Corrigin and worth a visit. Take time to read some of the headstones of beloved pets in their final resting place. Located five kilometres west of town on the Brookton Highway, the Cemetery is landmarked by a statue of a large dog. Whilst in the area, be sure to visit the Pioneer Museum to see how the pioneers lived at the turn of the 20th century. Allow some time to examine the memorial wall at the entrance of the museum which contains the names of all of Corrigin’s pioneers. If your visit to the Wheatbelt town is during the months of September and October, you will be rewarded with a spectacular display of wildflowers on display. Corrigin is located three and a half hours’ drive southeast of Perth.
