Description

St Peter’s Cathedral is a landmark in the city of Adelaide, and an important part of the city’s civic and cultural heritage. Built between 1869 and 1904, it contains many memorials to notable people and events in South Australian history; stained glass dating from the 1870s to the 2000s; a monumental wooden reredos that is among the finest of its type in the world; a magnificent pipe organ; and much more. The Cathedral is also the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, and the seat of the Archbishop of Adelaide. It has its own thriving congregation, and is home to a dynamic and inclusive sacramental community, which cherishes excellent liturgy, music and preaching.
