Description

Located 25 kilometres southeast of Merredin the Collgar Wind Farm covers 18,000 hectares and contains 111 turbines which generate enough power to supply 125,000 homes. It is the largest single-stage wind farm in the southern hemisphere to date. The location was selected for its unique topography, world class wind resource, favourable community rapport and proximity to the power grid. Visitors are invited to stop at the interpretative information shelter located on Bulls Head Road.
