Wild Dog (Dingo) Barrier Fence

Discover the world’s longest fence, the Wild Dog (Dingo) Barrier Fence, an engineering marvel stretching approximately 5,600 kilometres from Jimbour in Southern Queensland to the cliffs of the Nullarbor Plains in South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. You can see part of this iconic fence just eight kilometres northwest of Injune along Womblebank Gap Road. Spanning an impressive 2,500 kilometres within Queensland, this section was established in 1948 to protect the sheep industry by reducing the impact of dingoes and wild dogs. At its western end, the Queensland section connects to Cameron Corner, where the borders of Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia meet, creating a unique point of interest for visitors.
