Developing a love of the bush and country developed through visiting school mate’s farms and travelling through France, Jonathan purchased his first farm just north of Bathurst and planted Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon. Learning through fellow farmers and plenty of trial and error, his first Shiraz was bottled in 2008. It won 7 Gold medals! Realising he was onto something, Jonathan decided to move to Orange in 2011 to continue his love of vineyards. With each following year from 2008, they have been adding new styles from single vineyards with a focus on producing small batches of highly aromatic whites and deliciously complex reds, resulting in over 130 trophies and medals being awarded in under 10 years! Stockman’s Ridge Wines is now one of the premier producers of Pinot Noir, Gruner Veltliner, Shiraz and Chardonnay and has quickly become one of the most popular Cellar Doors in Orange due to the outstanding wine, value and experiences offered.
