Ningaloo Fly Fishing
Brett Wolf has been a full time fishing guide for over 20 years. After completing a degree with first class honours in Marine Biology at the University of Tasmania, guiding and writing about fly fishing have been his life.
Brett started guiding for trout in the waters around Tasmania for trophy sea run brown trout and moving up to the highlands for the summer trout fishing.
The season in the highlands of Tasmania is short, so Brett explored winter options to offer his expanding client list a warm water fly fishing experience during the southern winter. In this endeavour, Brett towed one of his guide boats from Tasmania to Exmouth, About two weeks after arriving in Exmouth he uncovered mainland Australia’s first and only bonefish fishery and they are big bonefish. The books on saltwater fly fishing in Australia, which said there were no bonefish in Australia, had to be rewritten.
Brett and Simone moved their young family to Exmouth in 2007 to explore this incredible new opportunity.
Brett has since established Exmouth Gulf and Ningaloo as one of the best permit and GT fly fishing destinations in the world. He is also a current IGFA world record captain.
