Sturt's Memorial located in Berri (South Australia) was erected in 1936, Sturt's Memorial was built to commemorate Charles Sturt's 1830 voyage down the Murray River. Captain Charles Napier Sturt was a British explorer of Australia, and part of the European exploration of Australia. The front inscription reads: Captain CHARLES STURT Passed This Spot January 1830 Erected 1930
