Description

The Wiradjuri Amphitheatre is in the Bushmans Hill precinct and can be accessed from Wentworth Street in Parkes. It is used for many celebrations including Naidoc Week each year. Learn about the local Indigenous culture of the Wiradjuri people at the amphitheatre facility on the southern side of Bushmans Hill. The site includes Indigenous artwork created by local Wiradjuri artists, scar trees and a bush tucker garden. The traditional landowners of the Parkes Region are the Wiradjuri people who have lived in these lands for more than 40,000 years. The Wiradjuri nation is the largest in the state, spanning from Albury in the South to Coonabarabran in the North, covering approximately one-fifth of NSW.
