Description

This walk can be done in either direction, but starting from Arthurs Seat will mean heading downhill for most of the way. From the delightful Seawinds Gardens at the top of Arthurs Seat, featuring indigenous and exotic formal gardens along with sculptures by William Ricketts, the track meanders through the Arthurs Seat State Park to McLaren Dam, and finishes at Waterfall Gully Road. As the track winds through the stringybark woodland it includes impressive views of Port Phillip Bay over Rosebud and the southern peninsula. The winding bush track undulates until it reaches the Fire Access trail where a right turn takes you down an extremely steep hill to McLaren Dam. Here you can add on a short circuit walk of the dam, or continue on for a few hundred metres of relatively level track gets you to Waterfall Gully Road. This walk joins the Dromana to Arthurs Seat walk, to the McLaren Dam to Duells Road walk and is part of the longer 26km Two Bays Walking Track (identified by a circular symbol displaying a Blue Wren seen on signage along the track).
