A 185-seat casual Italian eatery at the back of The Royal pub on Bondi Road, Totti’s is all about enjoying simple but delicious food with your favourite people. Headed by two big-name chefs – Mike Eggert of Pinbone and Khan Danis of Rockpool – the menu is made for sharing and is suited to all age groups. Start with the now-famous wood-fired bread and small plates of house-made antipasto. Move onto the meats, such as half-smoked chicken, pork schnitzel and roasted fish, which are all cooked in a Josper charcoal grill, or perhaps some flavour-packed pasta. Then there’s dessert, which will no doubt take you back to the flavours of your childhood, with standouts including tiramisu, sorbet and a Neapolitan ice-cream sandwich. The drinks are simple and classic, with retro-Italian-inspired favourites such as spritz, negronis and Campari sodas, alongside natural and minimal intervention wines sourced from small, boutique vineyards. Then there is the setting: choose between a spacious courtyard shaded by two towering olive trees, brimming with greenery and in view of an open kitchen, or an indoor space with lots of natural light shining in through sunroofs and the smells of the wood-fired bread oven filling the air.
