South Smoky Beach 4WD Trail

Distance: 14.5 kilometres Access to South Smoky Beach is via the north end at Smoky Cape Campground or the south end at Hat Head Rd. Note the north 0.5-kilometre corner is closed to all vehicles. Beach driving is a popular activity on the Macleay Valley Coast. A permit is required to take your vehicle onto approved driving beaches. Permits are valid in the Kempsey, Port Macquarie-Hastings and Nambucca shires. Beaches are changing environments. Access may be restricted at times due to safety, conservation, severe weather or environmental changes. Beach access permit holders must comply with the beach driving rules at all times.
