Bicheno Fishing from the Gulch

If you are taking the family to Bicheno for a holiday, if the wind isn’t too severe during Summer, try the wharf at the Gulch in the late afternoon, to the early evening where you may hook Salmon, Mackerel or Trevally – it’s a great spot to introduce fishing to kids. It has great broken bottom a Mecca for squid when the weather is calm and you can actually watch them taking your lure, even at night as there is a huge floodlight that shines into the water at the northern end of the jetty, you will know you are in the right spot because there is always a nice collage of squid ink on the decks.
