Description

Visitors can witness the working parliament, discover key moments in the history of Australian politics and explore the impressive collection of artwork. The Exhibit wall located within the Fountain Court features rotating art displays throughout the year and fixed artwork on display throughout the year. Free tours are available at 1:30 pm on Monday and Friday. Located within Sydney’s historic precinct, this heritage-listed building is rich in history and full of hidden surprises. The colonnaded façade facing Macquarie Street is the last remaining feature of the original Rum Hospital, built in 1816. Through careful modifications and vital work over the years, this remarkable building has evolved to accommodate the two democratically elected Houses of NSW Parliament, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. The Public Café and Restaurant onsite is open for lunch.
