The Costume and Kelly Museum in Benalla, is a unique attraction that combines fashion history with local folklore. The museum is accredited through the Museum Accreditation Program (MAP) and all exhibitions are put together by the Benalla Historical Society. The museum specialises in local history, including the permanent Ned Kelly exhibition featuring the famous green blood-stained sash that the infamous bushranger wore when he was captured at Glenrowan. The costume collection features dress trends from eras from 1770 to the present. The museum often has other topical exhibitions. There are also displays of memorabilia from Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop, Captain Hector Waller and Benalla History. The museum is co located with the Benalla Visitor Information Centre.
